Telecom Users in India Nears 119 Crore as Jio Emerges as Larges Company Says Trai Report

The number of telephone subscribers in the country has increased to 118.99 crores. This number was 118.72 crore in November and it has seen a slight increase in December. This information has been revealed in a recent report by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). In December, Reliance Jio has added new customers to both mobile and fixed line areas, while Vodafone Idea has suffered a big loss.

Jio is the largest company in the country

According to TRAI, Reliance Jio is the largest telecom company in the country and its total number is 47.66 crores. Airtel with 28.93 crore users and Vodafone Idea with 12.64 crore users is the third largest telecom company in the country. Jio has added 39.1 lakhs in December and Airtel has added 10.3 lakh new customers. On the other hand, the customers of Vodafone Idea, BSNL and MTNL have decreased. In December, Vodafone Idea lost 17.15 lakh customers, BSNL and MTNL have lost 3,16,599 and 8,96,988 respectively. Let us know that after the recharge of private companies became expensive, once customers started connecting with BSNL, but now the old trend has returned. People have now started going back to private companies.

Users in cities more than villages

The latest report shows that the number of urban telecom users in the country is increasing and the number of rural users is declining. In December, urban customers increased from 65.99 crores to 66.34 crores in December, while rural customers have decreased. The villages had 52.73 crore customers in November, which decreased to 52.66 crore in December. According to the report, the number of wireless customers in the country has increased to 115.07 crore in December and the number of wireline customers has increased to 3.93 crore.
