A herd of wild elephants from the Nepal border in Kishanganj has created a huge uproar. Elephants entered many villages and ruined the crops of farmers, causing loss of lakhs of rupees. Villagers are in panic due to elephants terror and are forced to do overnight.

According to the information received, a herd of 7 wild elephants from Nepal border entered many villages including Padampur, Baramasia, Ichamari, Estate Padampur, Talbari in Digalabank block at around 4 am on Sunday. Elephants trampled the crop of maize and banana in the fields, causing heavy economic damage to the farmers.
The tragedy is repeated every year, administration careless
Villagers say that every year a herd of wild elephants from Nepal enters and ruins crops. In the past, many people have lost their lives in elephant attacks, but the administration has not been able to take any concrete steps so far. This time too, the forest department team did not reach the spot until the news was written, due to which there is anger among the villagers. The farmers have demanded relief and compensation from the administration at the earliest, as well as appealed to take effective steps to drive away elephants.
