A textile businessman from Agra embezzled Rs 17.40 lakh from his NRI friend for business. Threatened to kill if he violates the rules. On this, the NRI has filed a case of fraud against the accused in Shahganj police station.
Yash Kumar Kherjani, resident of Gajanan Nagar, Shahganj, is working in a company in South Africa. He often comes to Agra on holidays. Yash told the police that Dinesh Kumar Mayani, owner of Baba Family Plaza located in Sindhi Bazaar, is one of his old friends. Dinesh had demanded money three months ago to fill the goods in his showroom. Due to friendship, he had loaned Rs 8.20 lakh from himself and Rs 9.20 lakh from his two friends without interest.
Dinesh Mayani had promised to return the amount by November 2023. When the incident happened in November, Dinesh ended all contacts. When he went to Dinesh’s house in December, his father Vasudev and uncle Chandraprakash refused to return the money. Threatened to kill. When Dinesh calls on his mobile, he does not pick up. The victim had complained to ACP Lohamandi Mayank Tiwari. On his instructions, a case has been registered in Shahganj police station. ACP said that further action will be taken on the basis of evidence found in the investigation.
