The biggest operation of Israeli intelligence agency Mossad! Russian fighter jet MiG 21 was stolen

Date 25 March 1963…on this day Mer Amet became the Chief of Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad. As soon as he assumed his post, the first question he asked his defense officials was, what can we do for the security of Israel? In response, everyone said in one voice that if we could somehow bring the Soviet aircraft MiG-21, it would be much better for the country. Mossad’s biggest operation started from here.

Insistence of the Air Force Chief

According to a report published on BBC, my intention was one morning. Were having breakfast. Then Israeli Air Force Chief Ezer Weizmann arrived there. While having breakfast, Mer asked what he could do for them. On this, without any delay, Ezer Weizmann said, I want MiG-21. As soon as I heard this, a wrinkle appeared on my Amet’s forehead. He asked Wiseman, have you gone mad? There is not a single MiG in the entire West. But his words had no effect on Wiseman. He remained adamant that he definitely wanted a MiG-21.

Operation Diamond

After this meeting with Weizmann, my intention was to bring the MiG-21 to Israel. Started on the mission. He formed a team for this. This team broke into the Iraqi Air Force and captured one of its pilots, Captain Munir Redfa. After this Mossad started Operation Diamond. In this operation, Mossad had codenamed Captain Munir Redfa as Yaholom. It means diamond.

A sugarcane and a plane in Israel

The responsibility of this entire mission was on Captain Munir Redfa and the special team of Mossad. However, the biggest difficulty in the meantime was how communication would be established between these two during the operation. Its solution was found in a song. Actually, Mossad decided that on the day Captain Munir Redfa would have to fly from Iraq with Russian fighter jet MiG-21, the Arabic song Marhabatein Marhabatein would be played on Israeli radio station KOL.

This song would be a signal. That Captain Munir should take a plane from Iraq and fly away. This also happened. On August 14, 1966, Munir flew with a MiG-21. However, midway, something went wrong with the plane. After this he had to land the plane at Rashid Airbase. But two days later, Munir again flew with MiG-21 and then landed in Israel.
