Local resident Vinod Kumar Ojha said that For 140 years, information about the coming weather is available from the water of Matki in the locality of gardeners situated in Gangashahar Old Line. This tradition is carried out on this day at the Holika Dahan site near Kharia Kuan. First the pot buried in last year’s soil is taken out. Then the new pot is filled with water. There is approximately 15 liters of water.
After worshiping Lord Ganesha, Varun Devta and Bhoomi, putting a lid on the new pot and covering it with a red cloth, after the worship, the new pot is buried in a pit about five to six feet deep. The pot filled with water remains buried in the soil throughout the year. Holika Dahan also takes place at this place. Then next year this pot is taken out.
They say that the pot buried in the soil is taken out at an auspicious time. This time it was taken out from 8.30 to 9 in the morning. If there is water in the pot, it is a symbol of prosperity and it will also rain. If there is no water in the pot, but the pot is wet then there will be normal rain. If the pot is completely dry then there is a possibility of famine, but this time the pot was dry but the cloth on it was wet. They say that this time the crops will not be good.

They say that if a little amount of water is found in the pot, i.e. as much as a spoon, then it is a symbol of prosperity and the coming years are 90 percent very good. On the other hand, if the pot is found to be a little thick then 60 to 70 percent of the consistency is good. This time, if roots have been found on the pot, then this time the situation will be weak. This time only 30 to 40 percent will have to be collected. Agriculture dependent on rain will be weak this time and crops will be less. There is only one family that takes out this pot from the ground and has been doing this work from generation to generation. He tells that last time water had come out in the pot.
