The incidents of sharks appearing on the seashore are increasing in the world. Some beaches of Florida in America are very infamous in this regard. But sometimes the incidents of shark sightings can be a bit strange. A similar case came to light in the UK when a shark was seen in the sea, which shocked the people standing on the shore. At the same time, a couple doing paddle boarding in the sea was just a few meters away from it. But both of them showed wisdom and felt relieved after understanding the reality of the danger because there was no danger to them from the shark.
The shark was spotted by 20-year-old Carla Smith about 35 metres off Lendalfoot Beach in Girvan, Scotland. After spotting a fin on the horizon through binoculars, her partner Andy Mila launched his drone to identify the creature, reports the Daily Star.
This couple from Troon unknowingly crossed paths with a shark while paddleboarding. They stayed still while the shark calmly passed them. “People started yelling, ‘There’s a shark in the water!’ We still thought it was probably a dolphin and only found out when we had the drone.”

His stunning footage helped calm the panic of beachgoers when they realised it was a harmless basking shark. Why don’t they eat people, which was a relief. Basking sharks are known to come to Scotland in the summer months where they find plenty of plankton to feed on. They then head back to their own territory.
These creatures can grow up to 12 metres long and weigh around six tonnes. They are believed to be the largest species of shark in UK waters. While they are the second largest fish worldwide, only behind the whale shark. However, the incident did make headlines, and dominated the news.
