Gujhiya is also one of the traditional food dishes prepared during the festival of Diwali. People make Gujiya in many ways. Some people use semolina in it while some people fill it with mawa. Ingredients of Mawa Gujiya:
Two cups flour, one cup khoya, two cups sugar, one cup ghee, one teaspoon cardamom powder, one teaspoon almonds (finely ground).
Method to make Mawa Gujiya syrup:
For the syrup, put sugar and water in a vessel and keep it on low flame on the gas and keep stirring it with the help of a big spoon till the sugar dissolves. When the sugar dissolves, increase the flame to boil the syrup and turn off the gas.
Method to make Mawa Gujiya:
First step: To make Mawa Gujiya, first add half a cup of ghee and water to the flour and knead it well. Now keep this dough like this for half an hour.
Second step: Now fry the mawa on low flame for some time. When the color of mawa turns light brown, turn off the gas and leave it to cool. When the mawa cools down, add almonds, cardamom powder and a cup of sugar to it.
Third step: Now make balls of the flour and roll them into rounds. After this fill the prepared stuffing in it. Now shape the edges of the Gujiya with the help of the Gujiya making container. Prepare all the Gujiyas in this manner.
Fourth step: After that add ghee in the pan and heat it on low flame. After this add Gujiya in it and cook. Cook the Gujiya until its color turns golden brown.
