Today every country has more than one modern weapon to fight the war. But when you look into history, you will come to know that earlier wars were fought with swords and cannons. Ammunition was required to fire the cannon. But there was a battle in Indian history in which silver balls were used instead of iron balls. Let us tell you about this war in detail today.
Where was this war?
This war took place in Rajasthan in the year 1814. In fact, in the same year, King Surat Singh of Bikaner state attacked Churu Fort with his army. Churu Fort was under Raja Thakur Shivji Singh. He also had a big army. But the war dragged on for a long time. Because of this the ammunition present in the fort got exhausted. Now the problem was that what should the circle be made of.
Historians tell that after this, his people stood with King Thakur Shivji Singh and the people even gave their silver coins and jewelery so that These can be melted and made into balls. This silver was melted and later made into balls and fired at the enemies. When the army of Bikaner saw such courage of the people of Churu, they finally accepted their defeat.
How special was this fort
This fort was built for years. It was built by Raja Thakur Kushal Singh in 1694. Raja Kushal Singh’s motive behind building this fort located in Churu district of Rajasthan was to ensure self-defense and safety of his subjects. Usually 200 infantrymen and 200 cavalrymen were present in this fort. But during times of war their numbers were further increased. Even when there was war with Bikaner, the situation was the same. There was no shortage of soldiers in the Churu fort, but the ammunition was not as per the requirement, that is why the people there asked to make ammunition for the war from their silver ornaments.
