Yes, you may find this a bit strange to hear, but it is true. Know in which country this mosquito has been found.

Chinese Mosquitoes

With the arrival of summer, the terror of mosquitoes starts all around. Mosquitoes found everywhere often look very small, but last year a very big mosquito was seen in China. In fact, while normally the size of mosquitoes is only 3 to 6 mm, the size of this huge mosquito is 11.15 centimeters i.e. about 4.5 inches. This is the largest mosquito found so far.

Let us tell you that this mosquito was found in Sichuan province of China. It is considered to be the world’s largest mosquito. This mosquito was discovered by Zhao, the curator of the Insect Museum of West China, during a visit to Mount Qingincheng in Chengdu in August last year.

The life of this mosquito is very short.

According to Zhao Li, this mosquito is related to the world’s longest mosquito species ‘Holorussia mikado’. This species was first found in Japan, whose size was eight centimeters. The name ‘Holorussia mikado’ was given to it by the British entomologist John Obadiah Westwood in 1876. According to Zhao Li, the body of mosquitoes of this species is so large that they cannot even fly properly. Apart from this, these mosquitoes are mostly present in those areas where there are many trees and plants. However, the life of adult mosquitoes of this species is only a few days.

According to the information, mosquitoes of this species in China are found in the western parts of Sichuan, mainly in the plains of Chengdu. And found in mountainous areas below 2200 meters. These are also called crane flies. According to Lee, even though these mosquitoes look dangerous, they are not poisonous and dangerous at all. Apart from this, they do not suck the blood of humans and animals but consume the juice of flowers. It is noteworthy that there are more than three thousand species of mosquitoes present around the world, out of which only 100 species survive by drinking blood.
