Anjali Singh Rajput / Lucknow. There is such a mobile restaurant in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, where pizza, burgers and hot dogs are made and served in just two minutes. That too very hot with full taste. The name of this restaurant is Cycle Restaurant, which was started by 65-year-old Shyamsundar Tiwari. About 30 years ago, Shyamsundar Tiwari had come to Lucknow from America. He has started a unique restaurant here on the go. Shyamsundar Tiwari tells that he used to work in a bakery shop in America, where he used to prepare the base of pizza, burger and hot dog. He used to earn in dollars there.
He told that the family was doing well, but circumstances changed and he suddenly had to leave the job and come to Lucknow. Here he set up his own pizza, burger and hot dog shop near Lucknow University. The students liked it so much that Lucknow University got them done a diploma course in Food. Shyamsundar Tiwari emerged from here and he became well known in Lucknow.
Today Shyamsundar Tiwari sets up his mobile restaurant at three places in Lucknow. First of all the GPO of Hazratganj. After this, Naval Kishore Road and in the evening near Narhi i.e. Zoo. People like the food items available in their on-the-go restaurants. Many of these are his regular customers.
Pizza is available for Rs 50 and burger for Rs 20.
At Shyamsundar Tiwari’s cycle restaurant, hot dog is available for Rs.30, pizza for Rs.50, king size burger for Rs.40 and mini burger for Rs.20. Due to the low cost, students prefer to eat at their place with their pocket money. Shyamsundar Tiwari calls himself the main ‘Burger King’. It is also written on his bicycle. The special thing is that they carry the base of burger, pizza and hot dog, all the vegetables, spices and chutney on just one cycle. Apart from this, there is also a small stove on the cycle itself, on which the work of cooking everything is done.
Rajasthani look attracts
Shyamsundar Tiwari told that he is basically a resident of Rajasthan, that’s why he is seen in Rajasthani clothes and cap. His costumes are the center of attraction for the people of Lucknow. Shyamsundar Tiwari is survived by his son, daughter and wife, who do the same work in Rajasthan. He tells that in one day he sells 500 burgers while walking. Also, more than 100 pizzas and more than 50 hot dogs are sold. Due to this, they earn well throughout the day.
