Hospital treatment is not everyone’s cup of tea. Sometimes accidents turn out to be very expensive. For common people, this is no less than a shock. Still, if a patient regains consciousness after months in the hospital, it is a matter of happiness for him. John Pennington, who lives in Las Vegas, USA, suffered a brain injury, lung damage and other problems in a car accident at the age of 30. This left him in a coma for six months, but then he suddenly regained consciousness miraculously. He does not remember anything from his deep sleep, but he remembers his first thoughts.
He explained on Reddit, “I woke up thinking it was time to go to work, but for some reason, I found myself tied to a bed in a hospital. When I asked the attending nurse if I could use the bathroom, she burst into tears and ran out of the room, only to come back a few minutes later to apologize and tell me that for the past six months, I had been in a coma due to a very severe traumatic brain injury.”

Soon after, he was handed a bill of over 2 million pounds or Rs 21 crore 62 lakh 65 thousand. This amount was very big for Pennington. In an update, John explained how he had originally created a GoFundMe page to help cover the cost of his treatment, but when nothing was happening, his lawyer stepped in to help cover the costs.
He further said, “My lawyer did a great job in paying everything. I was relieved when he told me that everything was fine. I did not become rich, but if you think about how much debt I had, I became somewhat rich.”
