Ramkumar Nayak, Raipur: Raipur is making its own identity in terms of tasty, delicious food and breakfast. Dozens of new shops are opening here every month and efforts are being made to give a unique taste to the people. Even today, some old shops in the capital are known for their excellent taste.
One such shop is Saurashtra Mishthan Bhandar, which is located in the Budha Talab area of the capital Raipur. It has been serving delicious snacks to people for the last 65 years. Today, the third generation of the family has taken over the shop. It has been at the same place for the last 65 years.
Many variety of items
Shop owner Paresh Dholakia told Local18 that the shop named Saurashtra Mishthan Bhandar is 65 years old. It was started by my grandfather along with his five brothers. Initially, there were only select items, samosa, mirchi bhajiya, alugunda and dhokla for breakfast. But as time changed, the variety of items was increased here. In the early days, i.e. 65 years ago, one could get delicious breakfast here for just one paisa.

Know the specialty of the shop
Paresh told Local18 that his entire family is mainly from Rajkot, Gujarat. In 1960, his grandfather came to Raipur and laid the foundation of this shop. Then his father worked hard to expand the shop and now the third generation i.e. Paresh is handling the reins of the shop. The quality and quantity of the snacks available here attracts people. Special attention is taken to maintain hygiene in the shop. Apart from cleanliness, sweets and snacks are kept covered with a net. Medical checkup of all the staff is also done every month. Paresh is providing employment to about 15 people from his shop.
