The samosas and jalebi here are wonderful, the unique taste is intact since 86 years, if you reach late, you will have to return empty handed

Rajat Bhatt / Gorakhpur: There is no need to travel a lot to taste the flavors in Gorakhpur. Because many varieties of food and drink are available at every street and intersection. But there are some such shops in the city, which have been putting the taste of their flavors on the lips of the residents for years. After tasting the flavors at these shops once, people go there again and again. At the same time, Samosa and Jalebi have such a taste for the last 86 years at Alhdadpur Tirahe in Gorakhpur. People only enjoy eating the food which is on the lips of the people.

Sattu Bhai’s shop has been fulfilling people’s demand for samosas and jalebi at Alhdadpur Tirahe in Gorakhpur for a long time. Their hot jalebi and samosa and chutney with it has been on people’s lips for a long time. In the year 1937, the foundation of this shop was laid by Soshi Ram Gupta. Then the shop used to sell only sweets. But his son Sant Kumar Sattu sat on the shop and expanded its scope and started Jalebi and Samosa. After this, people liked it so much that on reaching late, neither jalebi nor samosa, nothing is available.

The fourth generation is running the shop
Saint Bhai Sattu’s samosas are still ruling the tongues of the people at Alhdadpur Pur Tirahe in Gorakhpur. His fourth generation is running this shop. Kushal Gupta, present at the shop, says that in 2009, when Sattu Bhai’s health started deteriorating, his grandson Kushal came from Faizabad to Gorakhpur. When Sattu passed away in 2011, the responsibility of the shop is now handled by Kushal Gupta. Kushal says that even today there is no compromise with the taste and hygiene of the customer.

Sattu Bhai used to make samosas with great heart.
Kushal Gupta, who is present at the shop, says that when Sattu Bhai started samosas and jalebis, people started gathering here within a few days. He used to sit very leisurely to make samosas and jalebis and used to make them with his own hands with great love. Did not use any special spices, just used to prepare things on the demand of the customer. Today the price of a samosa is Rs.10 and a jalebi is given for Rs.40 per pav.
