The Village Review: Khooni Rajdaar story, the concept of Arya’s debut is strong, but the track gets spoiled due to overdrama.

Mumbai. It is as difficult to scare the audience as it is to make them laugh. It is not easy to keep people engaged with a good concept and create fear with every scene. The web series ‘The Village’ has been released this week on Amazon Prime Video with a twist of horror. Through this, Tamil actor Arya has entered the world of OTT. This series of 6 episodes presents a new concept with thrill to the audience.

‘The Village’ is based on the graphic novel by Ashwin Srivatsangam, Vivek Rangachari and Shamik Dasgupta. This is a 6 episode series released on Amazon Prime Video. The series is based on Tamil actor Arya, who plays the role of a doctor. He goes on a road trip with his family and then adventure adds to the story.

Story: Dr. Gautam Subramaniam i.e. Arya goes on a road trip with his wife Neha (Divya Pillai), daughter Maya (Baby Ajia) and dog Hectic. Due to an accident on the road, there is a long traffic jam. After this, Neha sees another route on the GPS and they leave for the highway through that route. But via a deserted road the family reaches Kattiyal village, which is called a haunted village. The car gets punctured and the family gets trapped in a haunted village. After this the story progresses taking many exciting turns.

Special thing: The story of the film begins with a rainy night. An accident happens to a pregnant woman and her family. In Kattiyal village, family members die in a gruesome manner and this is the most impressive scene of the film, which gives goosebumps. The flow of the story becomes clear from the first episode and its concept is quite good. In the beginning the series creates mystery along with scaring. The make-up department of the film has to be praised here, which has worked beyond imagination.

Loose Point: A special concept of the creature has been shown in the film and the reason behind it is also special. But as the episodes progress, boredom starts getting mixed into it. In order to scare, overdrama has been added, which irritates at one point. Neon colored plants, animals and some sets in the jungle do not match. At the same time, music of horror is the strongest link to create thrill but here the makers failed.

Arya doesn’t have much to do. His contribution in enhancing the story is not visible. The actors have done the acting well but the script forces them to do overdrama. The series can be watched once for its good concept.
