One of these photographs got his name included among the great photographers of the world. This picture won him many awards, but this picture also became a part of controversies. After taking these photos, Kevin became so depressed that he even committed suicide. 

What was different in the picture?
Actually this photo is from Sudan. In which a girl falls down due to hunger, with a vulture lurking behind her. Looking at this photo, it was estimated that the vulture sitting behind her was waiting for the girl to die, so that it could eat her as soon as she died. After some time of taking this photo, it was revealed that the person whose photo was taken was not a girl but a boy. Whose name is Kong Nyong. This famous photo was named The Vulture And The Little Girl.

Criticism of the photographer
This photo was published along with an article by the famous newspaper New York Times on March 26, 1996. Seeing this, people were so upset that they even called the newspaper office to find out whether the girl had survived or not. Also, after seeing this photo, people also criticized Kevin a lot. People started calling Kevin the second vulture present there. Kevin was quite shocked to hear this.

Kevin committed suicide
This photo revealed the hunger spread in Africa to the whole world. Kevin, who took this photo, was awarded the world famous Pulitzer Prize. During this time there was violence in South Africa. Which Kevin had gone to cover with his friend Ken Oosterbroek, in which Ken died. 

While the controversial photo taken in Sudan was being criticized, Kevin was completely devastated by the news of his friend’s death. After which, on July 27, 1994, he parked his car on a river bank in South Africa, attached another pipe to the exhaust pipe of the car and took in his mouth the poisonous carbon monoxide gas coming out of it. Due to which he died. During this time Kevin had also left a suicide note. On the other hand, it was also revealed that the child whose photo Kevin had taken in Sudan had not died of starvation but had survived. Who died due to fever in the year 2008.
