The Constitution is being discussed in the Lok Sabha on Friday. Taking part in this discussion on behalf of Congress, Priyanka Gandhi also gave her first speech in the Parliament. He said, there has been a tradition of dialogue and discussion in our country. This is a glorious tradition. This tradition is also visible in philosophical texts and Vedas. Its culture has also been there in Islam, Sufis, Jainism and Buddhism. Our freedom struggle emerged from this tradition.
Priyanka Gandhi said, our freedom struggle was a unique struggle. It was a unique fight which was based on non-violence. This fight was a very democratic fight. The country’s soldiers, farmers and lawyers, irrespective of their religion or caste, all participated in it. Everyone fought for freedom. From that fight a voice emerged which was the voice of our country. That voice is our Constitution today. It was the voice of courage.
Priyanka Gandhi also mentioned the recent violence in Sambhal. He said, some people from Sambhal had come to meet. There were two children among them, Adnan and Uzair. One child was of my child’s age. The other one is smaller than that. Both of them were sons of tailors. He wanted to make something of his son. His father used to drop him to school every day. He saw the crowd, tried to come home and was shot by the police. That Adnan tells me that I will prove myself as a doctor when I grow up. I will make my father’s dream come true. The Constitution has put this hope in his heart.
Center targeted over reservation, constitution
Priyanka Gandhi said, the government is working to weaken reservation. If these results had not come in the Lok Sabha, they would have started the work of changing the Constitution. In this election they came to know that only the people of the country keep the Constitution safe. After winning while losing, they realized that this thing would not work in the country.
Priyanka said, caste census is necessary, so that it can be known whose number is what. Policies should be made accordingly. Priyanka Gandhi targeted PM Modi without taking his name. He said, when the opposition raised the voice of caste census in the elections, they replied that they will steal the buffalo, they will steal the mangalsutra. This is their seriousness.

Priyanka Gandhi said, you talk about women power. There is so much talk today because of the elections. Gave rights to women in the Constitution and converted it into votes. Today you had to recognize that without their power your government cannot be formed. Why not implement Nari Shakti Act? Will today’s woman wait ten years?
He said, ruling party colleagues talk about old things. What did Nehru ji do? Talk about the present. What are you doing? What is your responsibility? Is all the responsibility of Jawaharlal Nehru? What is this government giving to the people struggling with unemployment? Forget MSP, even DAP is not available. The farmers of the country are crying from Wayanad to Lalitpur. The farmers of this country trust God.
