Even today, modernity remains a threat to the world’s oldest tribes. An example of this is the rapidly depleting forests of Amazon. For the last few centuries, the tribes here are still thousands of years behind culturally. Nevertheless, uncontacted Amazonian tribes have developed their weapons far superior to those of the modern world. A researcher has made this claim on the basis of his personal experiences.
Paul Rosolie told podcaster Lex Friedman that the tribes have a “culture of violence” that makes them view outsiders with extreme hostility. But they also have a good reason for being so isolated.
He told that at the end of the last century, during the Industrial Revolution, modern society suddenly started needing rubber for hoses, tyres, machines etc. Where the rubber traders were forcing them to go out to cut these trees. Whereas the uncontacted tribes had denied this.

Today, those tribes are still living like our ancestors lived 50,000 years ago. They lack modern technology, but these tribes are by no means weak. Their huge longbows shoot seven-foot long arrows with deadly accuracy.
A friend of Paul’s once tried to befriend one of the tribes – bribed them with an offering of fruit, but they shot three arrows at his head and one of them actually hit his skull and he had to be rescued from a helicopter. Could be taken out and saved.
They are incredibly accurate with bamboo tipped arrows and those arrows are seven feet long, so when one attacks you they come with such velocity that they can tear you apart. They can take spider monkeys out of a tree. They are still living naked in the forest, it is really incredible. They cannot protect themselves, but we cannot allow them to be shot at and their land bulldozed.
