This city is the most polluted
Let us tell you that in the first half of 2024 i.e. from January to June, Burnihat located on the Assam-Meghalaya border has emerged as the most polluted city. The average concentration of PM 2.5 in Burnihat has been 140 micrograms per cubic meter. Faridabad was second after Haryana and Delhi was third. Let us tell you that out of the top 10 polluted cities of the country, three were in Haryana, two each in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and one each in Delhi, Assam and Bihar.
This time a city of the Northeast was at the top of the most polluted cities in the first six months of 2024. At the same time, the second place is not Delhi but Haryana’s Faridabad city. At the same time, Delhi city is at the third place. Among the 10 most polluted cities of the country, there are three cities of Haryana, two each from Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The analysis of the Center for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CIEA) has revealed that there is not much improvement in the condition of air pollution. The average level of PM 2.5 in Faridabad, the second most polluted city in the country, and Delhi, the third most polluted city, has been recorded at 103 and 102 micrograms per cubic meter respectively.
According to the report of the Center for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CIEA), 140 cities were included in the list of most polluted cities from January to June 2024. In the daily level analysis, 51 of these cities have emerged as the most polluted city at least 10 times in a period of six months.
