There is a sweet shop in Janaki Park located in the vegetable market of Rewa, where there is a queue of people eating dal papad since morning. The Dal Papad available here is liked a lot by the people. The name of this hotel is Gop Sunil Sweets. Coconut Barfi, a famous dish of Sindhi community, is also available here. Whoever is liked a lot.

Full dal-papad for 20 rupees
Sunil Gop Sweets offers a full serving of dal papad for just Rs 20. The size of papad is so big that one feels full after eating one papad. Although dal-papad is available at about half a dozen places in different parts of the city, but the taste of dal-papad of Gop Sunil Sweets is not as amazing anywhere else. This taste has been ruling the hearts of people for 55 years. This is the reason why there is a queue of lovers in this shop located in Janaki Park of the city from 9 am in the morning. This sequence continues till night.

Three brothers started the shop
After independence, a large number of people of Sindhi community migrated and settled in different cities of the country. A large number of people from Sindhi community also came to Rewa. With time he also did business. Shop owner Anil Tharwani told that about 55 years ago his father LK Tharwani had started this shop along with two brothers Bhagwandas and Harkishan Das. In the initial days, dal papad was served here for just 50 paise.

This is how dal papad is made
He further said, today I and my elder brother Mahesh Tharwani look after this shop. Now people are served dal papad here for Rs 20, which people like a lot. People also like the Coconut Barfi, Gulab Jamun and Dhokla available here. Dal-Papad is actually a dish of papad made from flour and dal made from peeled moong. To enhance the taste of this special flavour, asafoetida, celery and black salt are also added to it.
