Do you remember the dog of Digicoin which became a part of its logo after going viral on Twitter? Actually it was a female dog, who died at the age of 18. This announcement has been made recently by its owner. The female dog named Kabosu finally lost her battle with poor health 14 years after going viral. The Japanese Shiba Inu was battling leukemia and liver disease after being the most famous dog on the internet for more than a decade.
A celebration of Kabosu’s fighting life will be held next Sunday at Flower Kaori in Kotsu no Mori, Narita City, Japan. He was rescued in 2008 by teacher Atsuko Sato from a shelter. Kabosu was sent there at an early age when the puppy farm closed down.
Writing the sad news in a post on Instagram on Friday, May 24, Kabosu’s owner Sato said, “To all of you who loved Kabosu, on the morning of May 24, Kabosu has passed away. Thank you very much to all of you for your support for so many years. She passed away very peacefully without any pain, as if falling asleep feeling the warmth of my hands.”
Many memes have been made on this dog named Kasobu. (Symbolic picture: Wikimedia Commons)
“I am sure Kabosu was the happiest dog in the world. That makes me the happiest owner in the world. “I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the people who have sent so much love our way.”
In 2010, a photo of Kabosu went viral online, smiling with her paws folded. From then on, her star continued to rise, eventually becoming the face of the major cryptocurrency Dogecoin as well as the subject of countless memes and comical textless online activity.
Today Kabosu, our community’s shared friend and inspiration, peacefully passed in the arms of her person. The impact this one dog has made across the world is immeasurable.
She was a being who knew only happiness and limitless love.
Please keep her spirit and her family in…
