If you send money to a wrong UPI number, then there are more chances of getting your money back. When your account and the UPI number on which you send money belong to the same bank. But if your account is of a different bank and the account in which the money has gone. Both are different banks. Then it may take time to get your money back.

Do this work first
If you have accidentally sent money to a wrong UPI number. So you can request that person to return the money. For this, if you want, you can share the transaction information with that person as proof. However, in such a situation, the chances of getting your money back are less.

Contact UPI App Customer Care
Apart from this, the UPI app through which you have done the transaction. You can register your complaint by calling its customer care. For this you will also have to provide transaction information.
You can complain to the bank
After sending money to the wrong UPI number, you can talk to the customer support officer of your bank. You can register your complaint with them.
Complain to National Payment Corporation of India
Apart from this, you should also lodge a complaint about wrong UPI transaction with National Payment Corporation of India i.e. NPCI. Apart from this, you can also complain by calling the number 1800-120-1740.
