How much will the salary increase after DA increase?
The government has increased dearness allowance by 4% yesterday. After this increase, the salary of central employees will increase. Let us understand how the salary of central employees will increase. If a central employee gets ₹ 36000 as basic pay in salary. So according to dearness allowance of 46%, it becomes Rs 16560. Now when dearness allowance has become 50%. Then instead of ₹ 16560 you will get ₹ 18000. That means after increasing DA, the salary will increase by Rs 1440. Similarly, if an employee gets ₹ 60000 as basic pay. So he gets ₹ 27600 as dearness allowance. But now after the increase in dearness allowance, this amount will become ₹ 30000. That means there will be an increase of ₹ 2400.
HRA also increased
While there has been an increase in dearness allowance for central employees, there has also been an increase in HRA. As per the recommendation of the Seventh Pay Commission, cities have been divided into three categories for increase in HRA. These categories are X, Y and Z. Earlier, 27 percent HRA was given in X category, 18 percent in Y and 9 percent in Z. So now it will be available at 30, 20, 10 percent respectively.
