Dumka. Jharkhand’s Basukinath Dham is famous, but a sweet here has also created a stir. Its demand increases especially during the month of Saavan-Bhado. There is a Peda Gali in Basukinath Dham, Shri Ram Peda Bhandar is considered to be the oldest shop here. This shop holds a special place among the devotees and tourists of Basukinath Dham.
The Peda here, which is prepared from pure khoya, is famous far and wide for its taste and sweetness. This shop in Peda Gali sells 30 to 40 kg of Peda daily. But, 1 to 1.5 quintals of Peda is prepared daily in this shop, which is also sold through temporary shops in the temple market throughout the month of Saavan and Bhado.

Shop owner Ashok Kumar Sah told Local 18 that he has kept up the tradition of his ancestors and has made this shop an institution where the demand for traditionally made sweets is always there. According to him, this shop is not just a business but a symbol of a cultural heritage that tells the story of hard work and dedication of many generations of the family.
Cardamom Peda
Ashok Kumar told that there is 100% guarantee of original khoya peda in this shop. Talking about the price, peda is available for 370 to 400 rupees per kg. Where you will get special cardamom fragrance in the peda prepared in his shop. Because for centuries only cardamom peda is made in his shop. This peda is made with 800 grams khoya, 200 grams sugar and cardamom.
