This special sweet is made in the month of Saavan. This time in Saavan, the making of Sattu sweet has already started in the shops. The fans of this Sattu are such that this sweet is eaten in every household of Bikaner and this sweet is also sent abroad.
Shopkeeper Mukesh told that special Sattu is made here. He told that Sattu made with Desi Ghee is made here. Sattu made of rice and gram is sold at 440 rupees per kg and Sattu made of wheat is sold at 400 rupees per kg. He told that for 117 years, Bikaner has been making and selling Sattu from this shop. He told that right now Sattu is being made from gram, gram flour, flour but after some days, this Sattu will be made from many things including Mawa, Motipak, Pandhari.
On Badi Teej, this satu is sent to the sisters and daughters of the house. Right now, this satu has started being made in only a few sweet shops. Satu is made from gram, flour and gram flour in the shop. Now gradually its demand has started increasing. People also offer this satu in temples. This satu is considered to be of great importance on Badi Teej. After a few days, this sweet will start being made in every shop.
Sattu is prepared in two to three hours
He tells that it takes two to three hours to make it. First of all wheat and gram are cleaned and sieved. They are cleaned again and then ground. It is roasted in ghee. After this, Sattu is made by adding powdered sugar. Sattu is made only in Bikaner during the month of Saavan and nowhere else.
Special importance of Sattu sweet
Sattu has a special significance and tradition on Badi Teej festival in the city. On Teej day, women observe fast and worship the whole day. At night, after moonrise, they break their fast after offering water to the moon, worshipping Kajli Mata and listening to the story. According to tradition, women who observe fast break their fast of Badi Teej by tasting Sattu.
