Shridhar Sabu ji tells that this shop of Sabu ji Petha was started 180 years ago when even Jaipur was not settled properly. Gradually the taste of Petha was felt on the tongue of the people and the crowd of people started gathering at our shop. Because at that time, this type of maida petha was not made anywhere else in Jaipur. Today the demand of our Petha is from Dubai to Canada, Petha is sold here at Rs.350 per kg and there is a lot of demand for our Petha in big events.
Festivals get crowded
Sridhar Sabu says that our petha lasts for the whole 12 months, but especially during festivals, there is maximum demand. Moong, Besan, Chaugani, and Motichoor laddoos, Gulab Jamun, Mawe’s special Barfi, Butter Vade etc. are made in Petha’s shop. But, the most famous is Petha.
