This special sweet is prepared throughout January as soon as the Khichdi fair starts. People come from outside to prepare it. Pushpendra Singh, the maker of this sweet, says that he comes to Gorakhpur from Bareilly for one month of the year and prepares this special sweet ‘Khajala’. This sweet is prepared in five varieties. In which it is prepared in varieties like khova, cherry khova, salty, plain, light sweet. But especially people like to eat it in two ways. Khowa and Cherry Khowa. This ‘Khajala’ starts selling at Rs 50 per piece and goes up to Rs 100. One piece for Rs 50 which two people can eat very comfortably.

Sales last only one month
As soon as the Khichdi fair starts in the city, people wait more for Khaja or ‘Khajla’ than for the fair. People like this very tasty sweet so much that it is eaten in every house. As soon as the fair starts, people start buying it and taste it a lot. Pushpendra Singh, who is present at the shop, says that there are many shops like his here and the sales of every shop are good. People like this sweet, which is made once a year, very much and buy it in large quantities. Every day people prepare 150 to 200 pieces and about 100 pieces are sold every day. Aman present at the shop says that people wait for this Khaja more than the fair which is very tasty to eat. Especially the matter of lost food is different.
