The famous Maa Pitambari Baglamukhi Siddhpeeth of Bihar is the center of faith of the people not only of Muzaffarpur but also of far away areas. There is a constant flow of devotees here throughout the year. People come from far and wide to see the Ashtadhatu idol of Mata installed in the temple. It is believed that Mother Goddess becomes happy when worshiped with turmeric and black grass. Worship has started in the temple on Chaitra Navratri. On Saptami, special Nisha puja is performed late night in the temple.

tantra meditation at night
Mahant priest of the temple Dev Raj told Local 18 that it is believed in Pitambari Baglamukhi Siddhapeeth that every wish made with a true heart is fulfilled here. It is said that ‘Sahastra Dal Mahayantra’ which fulfills all wishes is established just below the temple. With this, the mother fulfills the wishes of every person who comes here. The special thing about this temple is that during Navratri, dozens of Aghori from Kolkata gather here for Tantric Sadhana and finish Tantra Sadhana before dawn. For this, there are four Havan Kunds in the premises behind the temple. There tantric tantras complete the rituals. During this period, there is a ban on entry of women here.

Bhairav performs aarti
It is believed that if one visits here regularly for 21 days, Goddess Bhagwati fulfills every wish of the devotee. Here, when Mother’s special Nisha Aarti is performed, Bhairav, the rider of Mahakal, is present here in the form of a dog. All the animals here perform the aarti of the mother. Its history is that long ago there was a Bhairava (dog) not present at the time of Aarti. Since then, all the Bhairav (dog) here offer Aarti to the Mother Goddess in their own form.
