Not only is this very beneficial for the farmers, it is also beneficial for our and your health. Farmers of Rajasthan will be able to easily prepare this variety of gram in the climate here.
26 percent more protein in this gram
This new variety is IPC 4/14 and has high level protein. This gram is grown in Rabi season. The seeds of this gram are light brown in colour. This gram crop is ready in 130 to 135 days. Generally gram contains 21 to 22 percent protein but this contains 26 percent protein. The climate of Bikaner and the entire surrounding area is suitable for this variety of gram.

Dr. Sudhir, in-charge of Indian Pulses Research Institute, Bikaner, said that apart from this, ‘S’ and ‘Kismat’ of gram have also been prepared. IPC 13/163 has been specially made for Bikaner. This variety of gram will yield abundantly in the climate here. Work on this is still going on. Farmers will start getting this from next year. Due to this, farmers will get a good crop and will also get a lot of profit. Dr. Sudhir told that its multiplexing is currently going on. Apart from this, Moong, Virat, Shikha are also prepared in the institute. This crop is ready in 55 days.
