This yellow stone was called the demon’s eye, this Indian king used to roam around wearing it in his turban.

When it comes to any special stone which is related to India, the name of Kohinoor diamond comes first in everyone’s mind. But do you know that there is a stone in the world which is as precious and amazing as Kohinoor. Actually, we are talking about the world’s largest yellow stone i.e. Topaz. Let us tell you how this stone used to shine like a demon’s eye on the turban of an Indian king.

The story is related to the king of Kapurthala

There have been many kings in India who were known for their lavish and luxury lifestyle. The last Maharaja of Kapurthala, Jagjit Singh was also known for a similar lifestyle. It was said that he had so much wealth that even if he lavished gold and silver every day with both his hands, his treasury would never be empty. He had the world’s largest topaz.

Why was it called the demon’s eye?

Jagjit Singh, the last king of Kapurthala, had the world’s largest topaz. He used to wear it decorated in his turban. This matter was discussed outside India and abroad also. This is the reason why foreign historians also mentioned this. Similarly, historians Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins write in their book ‘Freedom at Midnight’ that the shine of the topaz adorned on Maharaja Jagjit Singh’s turban was so bright that it could be easily identified from several meters away. p>

Most importantly, due to its brightness, that topaz was compared to the eye of a demon. Let us tell you, apart from that unique topaz, there were 3000 more diamonds and pearls studded in his turban. This was the reason that whenever he came in front of the general public, people used to come to Kapurthala from far and wide just to see the topaz studded on his turban.
