A laborer from Jamunia village, who had come to clean the Mala forest of Pilibhit on the call of forest workers, was caught by a tiger. Fellow laborers saved their lives by running away from there. After getting the information, a crowd of villagers searched the forest for several hours with the help of the forest department, but no trace of the laborer was found. His shoes were found lying on the spot.

Gangaram (37), a resident of Jamunia village of Madhotanda area, had gone for cleaning in the forest of Mathna area of ​​Mala Range along with Arjun, Virendra and Chhotalal of the same village at around 8 o’clock on Monday. Forest worker Govind had called these people for cleaning on wages. Gangaram was cleaning in the forest with four people, when the tiger caught hold of Gangaram and dragged him into the forest. Seeing this, fellow workers ran away making noise.

On receiving the information, the people of the village reached the spot in a tractor-trolley. On searching, they found Gangaram’s towel and shoes lying in the forest, but even after searching for several hours, no trace of Gangaram was found. Marks of being dragged for some distance were also found. Villagers say that the forest officer reached the spot two hours after giving the information. Gangaram’s family members are worried about the possibility of something untoward happening.
