Tirupati Temple Laddu Row: Amid the uproar over the Prasad (laddu) of Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh, a purification ritual was performed at Tirumala temple on Monday (September 23). The chief priest of the temple said that now everything has been purified and take the blessings of Balaji. He also said that the Prasad has been purified after seeking permission from Lord Venkateshwara.
According to news agency PTI, Krishna Sheshachala Swami, the chief priest of Tirupati temple, said, “For the last four-five days, news is spreading all over the world that the ghee used to make Balaji’s laddus contains animal fat. The Andhra Pradesh government and TTD management approached us for a solution. We suggested that TTD perform a homam called ‘Shanti Homam’ for purification and they accepted it.”
‘Take prasad and share it with family’
He further added, “Today after 6 am we took the permission and blessings of Lord Venkateswara and performed the homam. Now everything is purified and I request all the devotees to please come to Tirupati Balaji, take the blessings of Balaji, buy your laddus and share them with your family and friends.”
Speaking to the media outside the temple after the conclusion of the holy ritual, TTD EO Sri J Shyamala Rao and Additional EO Sri CH Venkaiah Chowdhary said that this holy ritual was a sin-free ritual. As a part of it, Vastu Shuddhi, Kumbhajala Samprokshana were performed by the Ritwiks.
At 6 pm, Srivari devotees will chant Kshama Mantras while performing Deeparadhana at their home and chant Om Namo Narayanaya, Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevay and Om Namo Venkatesaya.
Former TDT chief also reached the Supreme Court
At the same time, YSR Congress Rajya Sabha MP and former president of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Trust YV Subba Reddy has also reached the Supreme Court in the Tirupati Laddu Prasad case. Reddy has demanded in his petition that the entire case be investigated by an impartial committee. It is worth noting that the previous state government of YSR Congress is on the target in the case of adulteration of Prasad with animal fat.
