iPhone Camera Manufacturing: Tech giant American company Apple is now preparing to make iPhone camera parts in India. According to a report, Apple is in talks with Murugappa Group and Tata Group’s Titan Company for manufacturing iPhone cameras. This step is also being taken so that the dependence of iPhone manufacturing on China can be reduced.
Apple is currently dependent on China for most of its options and this problem can be solved by partnering with Titan or Murugappa. Many iPhone models are currently assembled in India, but there is no supplier for the camera module. If this deal happens then the work of manufacturing iPhone cameras will be done by Titan or Murugappa Group. This deal is likely to be finalized within the next 5 to 6 months.
Titan and Murugappa Group have long experience in their field.
The Economic Times report quoted a person with knowledge of the matter as saying that the camera module is a very important component, manufacturing of which in India is the biggest challenge for Apple. While Titan has a long experience in manufacturing precision components for its watches and jewellery, the Murugappa Group is also an industrial house over 100 years old. In the year 2022, Murugappa Group had bought stake in camera module manufacturing company Moshine Electronics.
