The National Highways Authority of India will implement the increased rates which have been pending for two months from 12 midnight on June 2. The new rates will be effective on other vehicles except cars and vans. The new rates which were to be implemented from April 1 were put on hold due to elections.
The new rates will be effective till April 31, 2025. According to Rohit Kumar, Deputy Manager of the Authority, giving relief to other light motor vehicles including cars, jeeps, vans, Rs 150 was fixed for a single journey and Rs 230 for a round trip.
This rate remains unchanged from 2023. But the rates of vehicles were increased. The rates of small commercial vehicles and mini buses were increased by five to ten rupees. Similarly, the rate of buses and trucks was increased by 15 rupees.
The rate on HCM and ESE vehicles was also increased by Rs 15 per single journey. Oversized vehicles were increased by Rs 25. The rates were put on hold from implementation in the last week of March in view of the elections.
NHAI PD Praveen Jindal said that the new rates will be implemented from 12 midnight of June 2.
