The Government of India has now planned to implement satellite based toll system across the country.

People whose homes are close to the toll plaza, they currently get exemption in using Fastag. But now how will those people get exemption after the implementation of satellite system. If the house is within 5 km radius, will I get exemption?

Actually, according to the rules of National Highway Authority of India regarding toll tax, if someone’s house is very close to the toll plaza, then he is given relief in toll. For example, if someone’s house is within 10 km radius of the toll plaza, or if someone’s house is within 20 km radius of the toll plaza, then these people can get a monthly pass. Monthly pass for people living within 10 km radius is made for Rs 150.

Whereas the pass for people living within a radius of 20 km is made for Rs 300. But after the implementation of Global Navigation Satellite System, toll collection through Fastag will stop. So will the pass not work or not? Let us tell you that at present no information has been revealed by the National Highway Authority regarding the closure of the pass or the change in its system. For now people can use it.

Soon a new toll system will be implemented across India will be Applicable

The Ministry of Road Transport has launched the new Social Satellite Toll System as a pilot project. Currently, it is working on some highways. But it can be implemented across the country soon. Currently, people can use Fastag to pay toll tax. And vehicles that have OBU system can also pay toll through satellite system. But after the new toll system is implemented, vehicles that do not have this system will have to pay double toll.
