Shopkeeper Kamaljit Singh says that his family has been selling Shikanji for 41 years. Earlier uncle used to sell. After that, our father again took over this work. Earlier, soda was not available in Rampur, at that time we used to sell water shikanji here. After this, my father first brought Bisleri Soda to Rampur and started making Soda Shikanji, which soon became famous. From then till today no one has been able to compete with Tony Punjabi Shikanji. Keeping this in view, we started making many more varieties of Shikanji. Like Bisleri Shikanji, Thamsap Shikanji, Limca Shikanji, Sprite Shikanji, Red Bull Shikanji, Limca Shikanji, Fanta Shikanji and many other varieties of Shikanji are famous.
Heat relief with taste
According to shopkeeper Kamaljeet Singh, the shikanji of our shop is not only delicious. Rather, it also helps in providing relief from heat. To prepare this famous Shikanji, many other home-made ingredients like lemon, cumin, black pepper, cinnamon, black salt, sugar are used. Kamaljeet says that in this respect it is also beneficial for the stomach. Started making Shikanji for Rs 20 40 years ago at Naya Roadways near Nainital Road. Now Shikanji ranging from Rs 30 to Rs 150 is sold from 9 am to 1 pm.
