For the last few days, an order of Telecom Regulator TRAI is being discussed a lot about SIM card validity. Actually, many reports said that after the new order of TRAI, the sim card will remain active for 90 days without recharging. Now these claims have been denied by the telecom regulator. TRAI has called these claims misleading and said that no new rules have been issued in this regard. Let’s know the whole matter.
Rule is 11 years old- TRAI
TRAI has said that it has not issued any new rules regarding SIM card validity and the current rules have been coming for 11 years. Under these rules, if there is any amount in the account of a prepaid customer, then if it is not used, its connection cannot be deactivated after 90 days.
TRAI will review the new recharge plan of companies
TRAI has also said in its statement to review the recharge plans launched by telecom companies recently. Actually, the regulator ordered these companies to launch only calling and SMS plans. This order was given to provide relief to 2G users and customers who did not use data on the number. This will affect about 150 million customers.
Companies have abolished data from the current plan itself
Private telecom companies have presented some recharge plans following the order of TRAI. However, instead of priceing the recharge plans, these companies have converted the same plan into a voice-only plan by finishing other benefits from the current plan. In view of this, TRAI has said that it will review them on the basis of rules.
