Sunil Bhagat, the creator of this dish, told that earlier he used to work as a labourer, but during the lockdown he started selling chicken. One day he made chicken patpoda at home himself, which he found very tasty. After this, he decided to make and sell it commercially.

Today, Sunil Bhagat’s Chicken Patpoda has become famous in Raigarh, Jashpur, Ranchi, Khunti, Singhbhum and Chhattisgarh. This dish is prepared on order, and people order it over the phone and make the payment online to pick it up. Sunil also sends it to different cities by bus.

How is Chicken Patpoda prepared?
Sunil Bhagat says that after receiving the order, he himself cuts the chicken and prepares it. After washing the chicken, green chillies, onion, garlic, ginger paste, mustard oil, and chicken masala are added to it and mixed well. Then it is wrapped in sakhuya leaves, sealed in a tin and cooked on a wooden stove for about 30 minutes.

Chicken Patpoda costs Rs 350 for 1 kg and Rs 170 for half a kg. This dish is available at the shop located at Nathpur in Palkot block of Gumla district, which is about 35 km from the district headquarters.
