Tripura Election 2023: Voting for Tripura’s 60-member assembly is to be held tomorrow i.e. on February 16. The Election Commission has made strict security arrangements. All parties have campaigned vigorously for the elections. PM for BJP’s return to power Narendra Modi From then Home Minister Amit Shah did rallies. On behalf of the Congress, no one from the Gandhi family campaigned for the party, while the big leaders of the CPI(M) leadership threw energy into the campaign.
Amidst all this, big and strong leaders of Tripura are trying their luck in this election. The election results of the state will come on March 2, in which the fate of these leaders will open. Let’s know which big leaders of Tripura are in the election fray.
Manik Saha
Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha is once again in the fray from Town Bordovali assembly in this election. Manik Saha has been a former member of Congress. Saha was made CM after the resignation of former state Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. After the resignation of Biplab Deb, Manik Saha contested the by-election and won.
Rajeev Bhattacharya
Rajiv Bhattacharya is the chief of Tripura BJP. Bhattacharya is contesting from Banmalipur assembly constituency in this election. BJP’s Biplab Kumar Deb had won from this seat in the 2018 elections. After the resignation of Biplab Deb, Rajeev Bhattacharya was made the party chief of Tripura BJP.
Pratima Bhowmik
Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik is also contesting from her home constituency Dhanpur. The party included him in the list of star campaigners. Pratima Bhowmik is the second leader from the northeastern states to become a Union minister. Bhowmick is considered a BJP loyalist.
Rajeev Banerjee
Rajiv Banerjee is the President of Tripura Trinamool Congress. Banerjee joined the BJP before the West Bengal assembly elections, but lost the election and once again joined the TMC. “We are fully prepared for the Tripura assembly elections and are hopeful that our party will emerge victorious,” Banerjee said.
Sudip Roy Burman
Sudip Roy Barman, a six-time MLA from Agartala, is going to try his luck once again in the election field on this 16th February. Sudip Barman had joined the BJP in 2018, but rebelled against former state chief minister Biplab Deb and joined the Congress once again last year. Barman is contesting from Agartala, the capital of Tripura.
