Triumph Motors hiked the prices of their Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X

Triumph Scrambler 400X and Speed 400: Nine months after the launch of the Triumph Speed 400, its price has now been increased for the first time. The same applies to its off-road enabled model, the Scrambler 400X. The current ex-showroom prices of Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X are Rs 2,34,497 and Rs 2,64,496 respectively.

Was launched at an aggressive price

When the Triumph Speed 400 was launched last year at Rs 2.33 lakh, it shook the industry to a great extent and set a new benchmark in terms of aggressive price determination strategy. What makes this deal even better is its starting price of Rs 2.23 lakh, which is valid for the first 10,000 bookings.

The Triumph Scrambler 400X was launched a few months after the Speed 400 at a price of Rs 2,62,996. Although it was not priced as aggressively as its Roadster sibling, it was still a very well priced product. Because its price is lower than its major competitors like KTM and Royal Enfield.

Why did prices increase?

Still, the pricing of both the bikes remains quite competitive as it has been increased by only Rs 1,500. This increase in prices is likely to be due to inflation and rising input costs, which has affected most companies. However, Bajaj or Triumph have not yet explained why this increase has occurred.

Who is there to compete with?

The Triumph Speed 400 competes with the Royal Enfield Classic 350, which is a cruiser bike and is available in 6 variants and 15 colors. Royal Enfield Classic 350 has a 349cc BS6 engine which generates power of 20.2 bhp and torque of 27 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 is equipped with anti-locking braking system. The weight of the Classic 350 bike is 195 kg and its fuel tank capacity is 13 liters.
