The Jhansi-Kanpur route was affected for five hours on Thursday after a truck fell on the railway track from the Gujaini bridge in Kanpur. More than one and a half dozen trains were stranded. They were stopped near Central Station, Unnao, Govindpuri, Pukhrayan, Bhimsen and other stations. During this time, passengers tweeted to the railways due to the trains standing for a long time. The staff of the stations of Central Station, Govindpuri and Jhansi route were instructed to explain to the passengers and give information regarding the incident.
Many trains run from Lucknow to Mumbai and South Indian cities on the Kanpur-Jhansi route. When this accident happened on Thursday evening, many long route trains were going to their destinations from both sides. These include Chitrakoot Express, Secunderabad Express, Pushpak, Jhansi Lucknow Intercity, Chennai Express, Pune Express, Mahakal Express etc.
