On the night of 27th April, at around 8.30 pm, a truck hit a car returning from a wedding procession at Pachpeda cut of Aligarh-Ghaziabad Expressway from behind. Ten people in the car were injured due to this. The condition of two girls is critical and they have been admitted to JN Medical College late in the night. Other injured have been admitted to a private hospital in Aligarh city.

On the other hand, the villagers had blocked the expressway at 9 pm, accusing the truck that hit them of driving away. There was a traffic jam at the spot till 12 o’clock in the night. The villagers were demanding arrest of the truck that hit them and action against the police personnel who chased the truck away.

After attending a wedding ceremony at a farm house near Bhankri, ten people including Kapil, Ajay, Bharat Singh, Khushi, Aastha, Som, Rit, Tanu, Ritu, Shaurya were returning back to their village Khediya Hewat Khan in the car. About two kilometers away from the wedding ceremony, the car turned from the expressway on the way to the village when a truck coming from behind hit the car. Due to this the car was badly damaged and the groom got seriously injured and started screaming.

Hearing the noise, people nearby came running. As soon as the news was received, villagers from Khediya Haiwat Khan village along with the wedding ceremony had also reached there. These people allege that a police car was parked nearby. The police personnel chased away the truck driver who caused the collision. Aastha and Khushi, about 12, who were seriously injured in the accident, have been admitted to JN Medical College while the other injured were undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Aligarh city. As soon as the news of the jam was received, police station in-charge Inspector Sudhir Kumar reached the spot with the force. Till late night he kept trying to get the traffic jam cleared by convincing the villagers. On the assurance of action at 12 o’clock in the night, the villagers opened the jam.
