Turkey Action On Terrorists: The process of detaining people suspected to be associated with the terrorist group Islamic State (IS) by conducting large-scale raids in Turkey continues. In this series, on Friday (29 December), Turkish security forces detained 29 people on suspicion of being associated with the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS).
Giving this information on Friday, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on X (formerly Twitter) that all the detained suspects were planning to attack churches and places of worship in Istanbul. The government has named the operation being conducted against the terrorist organization Islamic State as ‘Heroes-37’.
Campaign against terrorists intensified in Turkey
The Turkish government has intensified the campaign against Islamic State and Kurdish terrorists after the bombings by Kurdish terrorists near government buildings in Ankara on October 1. Earlier on December 22, 304 people were detained on suspicion of being linked to the Islamic State extremist group.
Home Minister had given information
Then the Home Minister, while giving information, had said that most of the detained suspects were from Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. Yerlikaya said that this operation is being jointly carried out by police, intelligence unit and anti-terrorism squads.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya posted a video on Instagram showing images of the raid, including anti-terrorism police handcuffing the suspects and taking them away in police vehicles.
