In their study, scientists studied about 91 twin stars in which they found that some stars are eating planets. Researchers studied 91 twin stars through three large telescopes and found that some stars eat planets. Scientists have been believing that twin stars are completely similar in structure. But they were surprised to know that in 8 percent of them one star is different from the other. The interesting thing is that the only difference between them is that a star has the specialty of swallowing planets or the material of planets.
This study was done by astronomers of AllSky Astrophysics in Three Dimensions (Astro 3D), the results of which have been published in the journal Nature. For the study, they used data collected from Chile’s 6.5 meter Magellan Telescope, the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope in Chile, and Hawaii’s 10 meter Keck Telescope.
Researchers studied twin stars traveling together. They were born in the same molecular clouds and therefore should have been alike. Based on precise analysis, they could clearly see the chemical composition of the twin stars. But they found that in some pairs, a star was changing its chemical composition by swallowing planets or planetary material.

Scientists found that this type of work is not happening in only one couple, but out of 91 couples, it is seen in 8 percent of the couples. All these stars were in the prime of their lives, due to which scientists needed to pay more attention to them. The special thing about the study was that before this it was seen that stars swallow or eat nearby planets only in their final stages.
It is believed that these results will have a significant impact on planet formation process studies. Earlier it seemed that such an incident was not possible, but observations are saying something else. Because this is not only possible, but seems to be happening in increasing numbers. This may even bring about a change in the story of planetary evolution.
