The accused also gave the victim an appointment letter for a job in the railways, ID card and other items. The accused are absconding since the case was registered. Several police teams are searching for the accused and his gang members.
According to the police, Deepak Bhati (32), originally a resident of Dadri, Gautam Budh Nagar, lives with his family in Khajuri Khas area of Delhi. Apart from his father Rajpal Bhati, his family includes brother Hitendra Bhati. Deepak and Hitendra were unemployed. Meanwhile, in May 2022, Deepak met a person named Tanmay Mishra. The accused introduced himself as a career consultant and job provider. The accused told Deepak that he provides permanent, temporary and contractual jobs. He has got many boys and girls employed. Deepak talked about this to his family. The family talked about getting Deepak and his brother Hitendra a job in the railways.
The accused assured that he would get them a job of Rs 60,000 per month. In return he would need one year’s salary and some more money. The family agreed to this. Slowly the accused started extorting money from the victim’s family. First both of them were made to fill a form. After this a fake call was made to them from the Railways. Later after getting their medical done at Sanjay Gandhi hospital both were sent appointment letters on WhatsApp. 50,000 rupees each and one year’s salary were taken in advance from both the brothers in the name of posting in Delhi. Later on the pretext of submitting the documents they were sent first to Prayagraj and later to Agra.
Even after this, both of them were not given appointment. On repeated requests, the accused kept postponing it by making one or the other excuse. When the family got the appointment letter and ID card checked, they turned out to be fake. Suspecting fraud, the matter was reported to the police. After investigation, the police have registered a case and started searching for the accused.
