According to the police, at around 10.51 pm on Monday night, news was received that a massive fire had broken out in room number 50 of GB Road. As soon as the information was received, apart from the police, 14 fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. On reaching the spot, it was found that the fire had broken out in room number 49, not 50. As a precaution, the surrounding buildings were evacuated.

Later the fire was somehow brought under control at 11:55. The cooling work continued almost the whole night. The people present there said that even before this a fire had broken out in the same brothel. When the fire broke out on Monday, calls were made continuously to the police and fire brigade, but the fire engines arrived late by 40 minutes. Due to this the building suffered major damage. However, the local people safely evacuated the women and girls present at the brothel before the rescue team arrived. After the accident, a large crowd of local people gathered at the spot. After the fire was extinguished, the crime team reached the spot to investigate. Kamla Market police station is investigating the matter.
