Encounter between terrorists and security forces

After receiving intelligence about infiltration of terrorists in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army jointly started a search operation in the district on Friday (October 4, 2024). An encounter took place between the terrorists and the security forces after suspicious activity was detected.

There was firing between security forces and terrorists in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday itself. Officials said that after receiving intelligence about the terrorists, security forces had launched a joint search operation in Chatru village of Kishtwar district.

Two SEN soldiers injured in landmine explosion

Two Sen soldiers were injured in a landmine blast on Friday near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Both the soldiers were admitted to the Army Hospital at Drugmulla. A group of soldiers of the Sikh Regiment of the Army was patrolling the LOC.

The assembly elections of Jammu and Kashmir were conducted peacefully without any violence and bloodshed. Additional deployment of security forces was made during the elections to foil any designs from across the border. Earlier on September 28, there was an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Kathua district, in which Jammu and Kashmir Police head constable Bashir Ahmed was killed. The next day after this encounter, a terrorist was killed by the security forces.

Last week, on Saturday (28 September 2024), an encounter took place in Adigam Devsar area of ​​Kulgam. In this, security forces killed two terrorists, while four army personnel and Kulgam ASP were injured in the firing.
