Tribhuvan Giri Maharaj has written many works in Kumaoni and Hindi literature, at the age of 78 he is seen playing Paath in the world famous Ramlila of Almora.
While talking exclusively to Local 18, Tribhuvan Giri Maharaj told that he was fond of writing since childhood. He further said that circumstances make a person do everything. Due to China’s invasion of India in the 1960-70s, many poets were born, I was one of them. Since then till today he has been writing. His main focus is on Kumaoni language. Tribhuvan Giri has also written many Kumaoni books, many plays, stories and stories for many films. According to Tribhuvan Giri Maharaj, he will continue writing as long as he is alive.
A film being made on “Banji Kudik Pahru”
Apart from Ramlila and club meetings, Holi and editing Purvasi magazine, he has established himself as a writer in Kumaoni language and keeps talking about expanding the Kumaoni language as much as possible. Tribhuvan Giri has written 8 books which include stories, novels, epic drama, Khandakavya and story. He also told that he has also written on the folk tales of Uttarakhand. He has also written “Banji Kudik Pahru”, a book related to migration. People stage plays from the books written by him. He told that a film on “Banji Kudik Pahru” is going to come soon.
Young generation is forgetting its culture
Tribhuvan Giri Maharaj said that today’s young generation is forgetting their culture and their festivals. Due to which people will forget their festivals in the coming time. He believes that the biggest blame in all this lies with the parents because they are failing to tell their children about their culture and their festivals.
