Unique surgeries done in ISS, experiments were done not on any animal but on things which would not have even been thought of.

This surgery is being considered a huge success because it is being seen as a big step towards space surgery technology. This is being seen as a major achievement in emergency medical services for missions like Mars, not only this, it will help in developing remote control surgery technology in remote areas on Earth.

Surgeons used a robot called SpaceMira, developed by the University of Nebraska, and Virtual Incision. This robot was sent to the International Space Station at the end of last month, which was kept in a small box over a microwave.

The special thing about this surgery was that it was not done on any human or animal. NASA astronaut Laurel O’Hara installed this robot and the virtual incision was performed by six surgeons at the Lincoln Headquarters in Nebraska. The entire operation lasted for about two hours using remote control technology.

This robot has two arms and a camera and is designed to perform standard surgery tasks. In this experiment, the team performed tasks such as holding instruments, using them and cutting tissues. This simulated tissue was made of rubber bands. The biggest challenge in this operation was the difference of 0.85 seconds between the Earth and the space station.

Despite this challenge, this experiment was completely successful and researchers and surgeons are considering it a major achievement. He says that this is going to change the methods of surgery in future. NASA had provided financial assistance in this project. In view of the increasing need for space emergency services in the future, this experiment can prove to be a milestone.

NASA says that preparation for such services is very important due to the increasing possibilities of long space missions or human habitation in places like the Moon for a long time. The need to work on bringing all the necessary medical services to astronauts in space can no longer be ignored.
