US Travel Advisory: Parliamentary elections are starting in Pakistan from 8 February. Before the elections, the US State Department has issued an advisory on Saturday (3 February 2024). American citizens have been advised to be cautious during Pakistani general elections. The travel advisory highlights some of the disruptions and security concerns associated with political activities such as marches, rallies and speeches leading up to Election Day.
The advisory accepts that public meetings are part of the democratic process. Apart from this, the problems arising during the Pakistani election process have also been underlined by the US State Department. It has been reminded how trying to disrupt traffic and transportation during elections poses a security risk. There has been massive violence many times during political programs in Pakistan.

US citizens intending to travel to Pakistan have been cautioned and informed about political rallies taking place in planned areas. American citizens have been asked to avoid going to places where there is a possibility of crowd during the elections.
There may be disruption in internet-cellular services
Passengers have also been made aware that they may face disruption in internet and cellular services before, during and immediately after the elections.
