While returning to Kanpur after attending aunt’s funeral, the car overturned in Khanti on Gadheva-Sikithiapur road. Two cousins died in the accident while a cousin and nephew were injured. The family of three brothers of late former Bhagwantnagar MLA Devkinandan Chaudhary lives in Kanpur Kidwai Nagar. Aunt Kamla Singh, resident of Terha village of Bighapur, had passed away.
Kanpur resident nephews Ravinandan Chaudhary (52), Brijendranandan Chaudhary (62), Ashishnandan alias Mannu (55) and Brijendra Nandan’s son Anand alias Chhotu (43) had come to Gadheva Ghat in their car to attend the funeral. At around 6 pm after joining, we were returning to Kanpur via Gadheva-Sikithiapur route (connecting Prayagraj Highway). While moving the car from the fields towards the road to reach the flood-damaged road, while trying to save the rider, the bike went out of control and overturned in the water-logged bank. Anand was driving the car at the time of the accident.
The villagers broke the glass of the car and took everyone out and took them to the health center. The doctor declared Brijendranandan and Ashishnandan dead. While Ravinandan Choudhary and Anand were referred to the district hospital in critical condition, however, the family took both of them to Kanpur. Police Station Head Dharmendranath Mishra said that two people have died and two have been injured in the accident.
